Leveling up Muskoka Aesthetics
Nicole Manion tells us how she transformed her day spa into a med spa with the help of Mangomint.
Nicole Manion is everything. Not only is she Miss Muskoka 2012, she’s the owner and founder of Muskoka Aesthetics, a med spa and boutique in Ontario, Canada where you can get a pedicure, botox, and everything in between. She also hosts "Beauty Behind The Brand," a podcast where she invites business owners to share the behind-the-scenes of running successful beauty brands. As if running a med spa and hosting a podcast wasn’t enough, she’s also the brains behind Miskoka Beauty Inc. — a high-quality eyelash and eyebrow product line. It goes without saying, but she stays busy.
I had the opportunity to steal some time in her hectic schedule to ask about her spa’s journey with Mangomint.
Nicole sought a spa management software that could keep up with her and simplify her day to day. In 2022, Nicole transformed her day spa into a med spa, so she needed a booking software that could support her evolving business.

Mangomint's software offered the perfect setup to meet this need. When an appointment is scheduled, all necessary forms are automatically sent to the client following the booking confirmation. The form is attached to the appointment and the client’s profile for easy access during their visit.
Highly customizable online booking
Muskoka Aesthetics knows every client is unique. Their online booking reflects that. Their clients can customize their service with add-ons, such Oxygen LED Dome, or service preferences, such as a silent appointment.
Mangomint works in the background to ensure the price is modified for any customized services, the correct resources are booked for the appointment, and the time is adjusted accordingly.
Upgrading client communication
Nicole was able to centralize client communication with Two-Way Texting, “so if anyone's messaged us over the night, instead of having our work phone with us all the time, we're able to access that through the text messaging SMS on Mangomint.” This makes it easy for Nicole’s team to quickly message back and forth with clients while also viewing all communication history, including appointment reminders and confirmations, marketing emails, and more.
“I love Mangomint for that [messaging] feature because we're not having that question of when my appointment is, what time it's at. Clients are able to come in and there's no excuse for no-shows or cancellations because they're able to get in contact with us, and they have those reminders.”
On-brand email marketing
“Aesthetics” is in the name. That’s why Muskoka’s email marketing has to be on par with its elevated branding. Mangomint’s email marketing feature allows Nicole to build beautiful campaigns and target clients based on appointment history, known preferences, and predicted service needs. With plenty of email templates that are easily customizable to Muskoka’s branding, Nicole is able to boost booking for specific services and stay top of clients’ minds.
Improved reporting
Nicole, like many owners, knows that when you don’t have meaningful business metrics, running a med spa is just a guessing game. With Mangomint, Muskoka is able to make decisions based on real-time data. Using the reports feature, Nicole is able to track inventory, payroll, sales, and more.
